P3 Campaign

The Picture Perfect Pietermaritzburg (P3) campaign, driven by the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB) with the support of The Witness and the Msunduzi Municipality, is aimed at beautifying the city with companies adopting and maintaining sites throughout the city. PCB CEO Melanie Veness explained that the P3 campaign will operate in conjunction with existing community and clean-up programmes, including the Proudly Pietermaritzburg Citizens’ Initiative that has the Capital Media Group support. “The P3 campaign is complementary to the various clean-up and restoration projects throughout Pietermaritzburg and highlights the growing clamour within the city to restore its famed garden city positioning,” she said. Veness said the idea is for P3 participating companies to adopt and landscape prominent spots in the city, and for their support to be prominently acknowledged. However, firms that prefer to beautify their premises or own corporate gardens, are also welcome to join the campaign, Veness said. “Attractive, durable and theft-proof signs will be erected that will feature a sponsoring company’s name at its chosen site,” she said. Each month a winning entity will be profiled in The Witness and e-BizBlitz, to recognize the efforts of participating firms. To find out more contact Lorna Jones, 033 3452747, function@pcb.org.za. The Picture Perfect Pietermaritzburg (P3) campaign, driven by the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB) with the support of The Witness and the Msunduzi Municipality is aimed at beautifying the city with companies adopting and maintaining sites throughout the city. The campaign is demonstrated at The Sunday Tribune Garden Show by means of a display at The Witness’ building, and won a gold medal. The display features a “before and after” scenario and is bound to strike a chord with residents keen for the city to re-establish its renowned Garden City positioning.
The chamber would like to thank all those who assisted them with the display - The Witness for making the stand available; the Msunduzi Parks Department for plants; Rob Jones for helping the PCB team build the display; and UWP Consulting for supplying maps and developing a system to manage entries.
