Stafford is the Operations Manager at MATelec, a company which was established in 1973 and has grown steadily into a highly respected manufacturer and distributor of electrical products internationally. 

MATelec’s manufacturing facility is situated in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, from where their products are distributed around the globe.  In order to market the product range internationally, MATelec has had to ensure that all products meet the International Electrical Commission safety specification requirements.  MATelec and its staff strive to be innovative and flexible in the manufacturing process, as well as in the provision of services to their valued customer base.  Their aim is to continually set new benchmarks and standards, the results of which make it easier for their customers to do business with them.

Stafford studied at Technikon Natal and completed his NHD - Mechanical Engineering.  

Stafford is married to Nicki and they have two children, Callum and Imogen. Nicki works for UKZN in the Science Access Programme where she lectures biology. She has an MSc in Conservation Entomology and is completing her MEd. Stafford has a wide variety of interest outside of work which include mountain biking, camping, radio controlled models and motor sport.
