Raj Seeparsad
Raj Seeparsad is among the most experienced and well-respected Human Resource Practitioners in the Maritzburg area. He has been with a family business with a staff complement of about 900 workers, for almost 28 years. He founded the company’s HR department and he had trained many HR Practitioners who are successfully employed throughout SA. He is currently employed as a Senior HR Practitioner for GUD Holdings (Pty) Ltd., Pietermaritzburg.
Seeparsad has diplomas in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Human Relations and Labour Law. He is also a registered Skills Development Facilitator and chairs the PCB’s HR Forum as well as the Employer Contact Group on alternate months. He is also a member of the PCB’s Management Board and Executive Committee. Raj also represents the PCB at the Department of Labour’s Stakeholders forum. He held positions of Regional Chairperson of IPM KZN and National Vice-President Branches, of IPM. He is currently the advisor to the IPM national Board.
Seeparsad represented the IPM (SA) at the 10th HR World Congress in 2004, in Rio de Janerio, Brazil as a guest and a representative at the world meetings. He also represented IPM (SA) at the Australian HR Congress in Melbourne, Australia in 2006 and the Asia Pacific Congress in Bangkok, Thailand in 2008.
He had the IPM Fellow bestowed on him and received the HR Consultant of the Year award in 2001 and 2006 respectively.
Raj has now been tasked together with the IPM CEO to bring the HR World Congress to Durban, South Africa.
As if long service to both his employer and the PCB and IPM is not demanding enough, he serves as an advisor to the various school Governing Bodies in the Northern area and is involved with various other community organizations.
