Raj Seeparsad is among the most experienced and well-respected Human Resource Practitioners in the Pietermaritzburg area.
He is a coach and mentor to several Human Resources Professionals and addresses HR Honours students at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and other institutions on a regular basis and presents papers at the Public Sector HR conference and other conferences.
Raj worked in a family business with a staff complement of about 900 workers for almost 28 years. He founded the company’s HR department and trained many HR Practitioners who are successfully employed throughout SA. He is currently employed as the Senior HR Manager for GUD Holdings (Pty) Ltd in Pietermaritzburg who are manufacturers in the automobile industry.
Raj has diplomas in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Human Relations and Labour Law. He is a registered Skills Development Facilitator and a member of the PCB’s Management Board and Executive Committee. Raj also represents the PCB at the Department of Labour’s Stakeholders forum. He also serves on the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) stakeholders forum. He is currently the National President of the Institute of People Management (IPM) (SA).

Raj had the IPM Fellow bestowed on him and received the HR Consultant of the Year award in 2001 and 2006 respectively. In 2008 he received the IPM’s (SA) Presidential award. In 2012 he received the Africa HR Leadership award. Raj has now been tasked together with the IPM CEO to bring the HR World Congress to Durban, South Africa.
As if long service to both his employer and the PCB and IPM is not demanding enough, he serves as an advisor to the various school Governing Bodies in the Northern area and is involved with various other community organizations.
